Iran Press/ Iran News: Following the recent resolution of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against Iran and in response to this political and non-constructive action, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) put several measures on the agenda as the first step, and on Sunday their implementation was carried out with the presence of inspectors of the Agency in Natanz and Fordow enrichment complexes.
Among the measures taken is 60% enrichment in Fordow enrichment facilities. It should be noted that this action is taking place while the enrichment of 60% in Natanz is still going on.
In this regard, the Atomic Energy Organization explained the actions taken in Fordow and Natanz.
Actions taken in Fordow are as follows:
- Production of UF6 uranium product with 60% enrichment for the first time in this complex; (the 60% enrichment in the Martyr Ahmadi Roshan complex (Natanz) is still ongoing.)
- The beginning of the process of replacing the first-generation centrifuge machines with advanced IR-6 machines in this complex, which causes a significant increase in production capacity.
- The beginning of the process of equipping hall B (Unit 1) with the capacity of 8 new chains, which will be done in stages according to the necessity of creating infrastructure.
Actions taken in Natanz are as follows:
- Feeding gas to two new chains of advanced IR-4 and IR-2m machines.
- The start of passivation of two other chains of the same type (IR-2m and IR-4), which will reach the gassing stage in the coming days.
- The start of the process of setting up the B1000 unit with the capacity of 8 new waterfalls; (the completion of this action will be done in stages due to the necessity of creating infrastructure.)
Considering that these actions of the AEOI were carried out on Sunday in the presence of the IAEA's inspectors, it is not known why no report has been issued by the IAEA, contrary to previous procedures.
