Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Ministry of Health Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari on Thursday reported the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus.
She said, "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to August 20 in the country, 2,279 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 352,558".
1,038 of the new patients were hospitalized, Lari reported.
The Spokeswoman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 139 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 20,264 people have lost their lives in the country to date."
3,653 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.
"So far, around 2,278,384 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in the world has reached more than 22 million and 605 thousand people, of which at least 790 thousand people have died and about 15 million and 320 thousand people have recovered.
