The President-elect of Iran, in a telephone call from the President of Syria, stated that the relations between the two countries are built on strong foundations and that developing and strengthening mutual cooperation is a strategic policy for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news:  Masoud Pezeshkian, the President-elect of Iran, in a telephone conversation with Bashar Assad, the President of Syria, expressed gratitude for Assad's sincere congratulatory message.

Pezeshkian pointed to the good agreements between the two countries and emphasized his commitment to implementing these agreements. He stated that the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the guidance and leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, will continue to support Palestine, the resistance movement, and the people and government of Syria as a strategic ally of Iran.

Bashar Assad also acknowledged the rich history and significant achievements of the Iranian people, describing Iran as a powerful country. He said that the relations between Tehran and Damascus are very strong and based on mutual support during difficult times, noting that just as Syria supported Iran during the imposed war, the Islamic Republic also supported Damascus during the internal war imposed on Syria.

The Syrian President further described the relationship between Iran and Syria as the foundation and basis of stability and a key factor in preventing external dominance in the region. He added that with the cooperation of Pezeshkian's government, they would work to further strengthen and solidify this relationship.
