Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's Mahmoud Adib submitted his credentials as the new ambassador to Tbilisi to Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In the submission meeting, Adib said that long-standing historical and cultural ties, as well as three decades of constructive relations between Tehran and Tbilisi, and valuable people-to-people relations had paved the way for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
He highlighted the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the realization the peace and security in the region and called for the shore-up of relations in the economic, cultural, political, and consular fields.
Khvtisiashvili, for his part, assessed positive the relations between the two countries and expressed hope that Tehran-Tbilisi's ties would be shored up in different areas during the new ambassador's career. 219
