Tehran ( IP) - A new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Georgia was nominated by the Iranian Foreign Minister and endorsed by the President.

Iran PressIran news: On a recommendation by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and after the approval of President Ebrahim Raisi, Mahmoud Adib was appointed as the new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Georgia.

Adib met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian ahead of departure for his place of duty and presented his working plan for his ambassadorial tenure in Georgia and received guidelines from the foreign minister.

Adib, previously, has served as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Consul General in Kazakhstan’s Aktau, General Director of the Supreme Council for Iranian Expatriates, and Director General for Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry.
