Iran Press/ Iran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh added: "The situation of the missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan is such that out of five missions of our country in Afghanistan, including Kabul, Mazar-i-Sharif, Jalalabad, Herat and Kandahar, our colleagues have left three agencies, including Mazar-i-Sharif, Jalalabad, and Kandahar and pursued their activities from Kabul. Of course, for some reason, we decided not to announce the closure of these missions, and currently, only guards and a few local employees are present in these 3 missions."
Khatibzadeh explained that in the case of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, the forces had been reduced and most of the employees had returned as long as the essential activities of the embassy are not disrupted.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stresses that our diplomats are safe and have no problem traveling to Iran, but to be sure, they have preferred to remain at the mission for now.
