Tehran (IP) - On the occasion of Christmas, the head of Iran's judiciary issued a 10-day leave for the eligible Christian convicts showing respect for Iranian Christians and creating the freedom for any Iranians to observe their religion and rights.

Iran Press / Iran News: Issued on Sunday, the decree issued by Iranian Judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei includes all Iranian Christian prisoners.

But this leave is not for those who are convicted of espionage, acting against national security, convicted for more than five years, gang members, convicted for organized crimes, armed robbery, kidnapping, disrupter of the countries economic system, and those who were sentenced to death.

The Head of Iran's Judiciary, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni, obligated attorneys across the country to implement the circular and monitor its proper implementation. 

In the 17th century, December 25th was proclaimed as Christmas or the birth of Jesus Christ, and almost all followers of Christianity celebrate this day as the birthday of Christ.

Every year, Iranian people and officials congratulate Christians and respect their celebrations in the Christmas and New Year ceremonies.

This year, Iranian President Raisi, besides sending congratulating messages to Christians around the world and Iranian Christians, also paid a visit on Friday evening to the home of a family of Christian martyr Vartan Aghakhanian.

Another senior Iranian official and head of judicial Branch and Parliament Speaker, Ministers including Foreign Minister congratulating the auspicious birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH).

Like every year Iranian Christians community on Christmas and the eve of the New Year 2022  in churches observed their traditional celebrations.

In the city of Isfahan in central Iran, Christians gathered in Vank Church in the Jolfa district to observe their ceremonies and celebrations.
