Iran Press/ Commentary: Initially, the IRGC Command Council announced the mission of the organization to assist police in maintaining security, including chasing and arresting anti-Revolutionary elements and assassins and defending the country against foreign invasions.
The mission gradually was expanded to support other oppressed nations suffering the tyranny of the world's arrogant powers.
Under the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, IRGC was involved in scientific activities in different areas, including medicines, aerospace industry, construction activities, missile technology, and cultural enterprises.
The advancements all show the increasing success of the Iranian entity, which has made them arrogant powers of the world irate such that they are exerting any pressure to stop the body.
Before that and when the Ba'athist regime of Iraq imposed an 8-year war on Iran to nip the Islamic Revolution in the bud and disintegrate the country, IRGC, along with the Army and popular forces, made sacrifices, defeating the enemies and spoiling their plots.
But what was more spectacular of the entity was the endeavor made by its Quds Forces led by Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani to stop the widespread invasion of the US-backed ISIS terrorist groups and other terrorist outfits in the west Asian, including Iran, region but even in Europe.
On January 3, 2020, the Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, traveled to Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi authorities and was martyred in an airstrike by US forces at Baghdad Airport, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) and some of his companions.

The presence of IRGC and its consultative assistance to the governments of Iraq and Syria led to the defeat and cessation of the insurgent attacks and horrible crimes, including beheading executions, against the Iraqi and Syrian nations.
ISIS was defeated and so retreated from the region.
