Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister noticed the US and some of its allies that their policy to isolate Iran has failed and works no more.

Iran PressIran News:  Visiting South Africa to participate in the joint meeting of BRICS member countries and friends, held in Cape Town, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met on the sidelines of the event with his counterparts from South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Comoros, India, Brazil, Gabon, and the deputy FM of Cuba.

The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly rejects unilateralism, and makes the most of the opportunities in the framework of multilateralism, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday, noting that Iran's active participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union, and recently in BRICS shows that the global policy of isolating Iran has failed.

"We can use BRICS' capacities to promote multilateralism in order to increase trade with the member countries and strengthen economic cooperation to the benefit of the Iranian nation," Amir-Abdollahian said.

He pointed to his visit with the Saudi FM on the sidelines of the BRICS meeting and said that the expansion of economic, trade, cultural, and tourist cooperation at a regional level can ensure the region's security. 

The Iranian foreign minister highlighted the new world order emerging and noted: "Alliances and coalitions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Council and BRICS are among the new influential players in the new world order." 

BRICS member countries consist about 42% of the world's population, with possessing nearly a quarter of the world's gross national product and about one-third of the world's land."

Iran, South Africa, Brazil, Russia, India, China, Argentina, Bangladesh, Comoros, Cuba, Burundi, Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Uruguay took part in the meeting.
