Iran Press/ Middle East: Iran's FM Hossain Amir-Abdollahian, who arrived on Thursday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on a formal invitation his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, left the country on Friday for Iran.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told reporters on Friday: "We believe that comprehensive and sustainable relations must be formed between Tehran and Riyadh, and in this framework, we agreed to have extensive cooperation in economic, trade, and tourism fields in both private and public sectors."
Amir-Abdollahian referred to his meeting with his counterpart Faisal bin Farhan and the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and said:
"Both sides agreed that sustainable security and development of the region should be allowed for the entire region, hence the idea of security and development was emphasized for all."
He said that the Saudi crown prince was invited to visit Iran and reported the Saudi officials planning to set the best time for the visit.
The Iranian FM noted that there is an understanding being shaped that the region can take steps towards development with an endogenous perspective without relying on foreigners.
