6,073 new COVID-19 cases registered in Iran

Tehran (IP) - Iran's new registered COVID-19 deaths were 110 on Monday and the country is recording its lowest numbers since early September.

Iran Press/Iran News: The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Monday in the past 24 hours, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 6,073 cases, out of whom 1,147 patients were hospitalized.

According to the statistics from yesterday to January 4, 2021, 1,249,507 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,020,737 of the total infected people recovered, Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 110 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 55,650.

4,901 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 7,831,359 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

"Based on the latest statistics, the cities of Sari, Amol, Ramsar, and northern Savadkuh in northern Iran are regarded as red zones, 43 cities as orange zones, and 401 cities as yellow zones," Lari said.
