Tehran (IP) – In a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart, Iranian foreign minister said that Iran continues its efforts to end the war and Tehran is ready to comprehensively develop relations with Kyiv, including in the economic and agricultural fields.

Iran PressIran News: In the phone conversation between Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Dmitry Kolba, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and some regional and international issues, including the Ukraine crisis.

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in opposing war and said: "As we have announced since the beginning of the crisis, we are against war in Afghanistan, Yemen, Palestine and also Ukraine."

He stated that Iran's practical policy is also in accordance with this principle and the Islamic Republic of Iran is against any action that leads to the continuation and escalation of conflicts.

Rejecting the baseless accusations of the American National Security Adviser against Iran regarding the sending of Iranian drones to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine, Amir-Abdollahian said: "Making such claims at the same time as US President Joe Biden's trip to the Occupied Palestinian Territories is in line with specific political goals and purposes."

The Iranian foreign minister added that the principled and transparent position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in opposing the war and supporting the cessation of war is not based on a double standard, like the dual approach of some western countries.

He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran continues its efforts to end the war and resolve the political crisis in Ukraine.

Amir-Abdollahian announced Tehran's readiness to comprehensively develop and expand relations with Kyiv, including in the economic and agricultural fields.

Dmitry Kolba, for his part, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its opposition to the war and underlined: "We value the continued communication between the foreign ministers of Iran and Ukraine, which was established even during the difficult days of the beginning of the war."

"I agree with you that we should not allow the accusations of others to damage the friendly relations between Kyiv and Tehran," he added.

The Ukrainian foreign minister announced his readiness for the all-round expansion of mutual relations, and announced Kyiv's readiness to open a new chapter of relations with Tehran.

Explaining the latest situation of the war in Ukraine, Kolba thanked Tehran for its efforts to help establish a ceasefire and focus on a political solution.

In the end, Kolba invited Amir-Abdollahian to visit Ukraine.
