Iran planning to repatriate Iranian expatriates in European countries

Vienna (IP) - The charge d'affaires of the Iranian embassy in Austria announced an effort to return Iranians living in Central and Eastern European countries.

Iran Press/Iran News: "Many Iranians in Central and Eastern European countries are not able to return to our country due to the current situation and limits imposed by the European states in combating coronavirus," said Hamid Reza Madadkar.

He added: "With the contacts made with this group of Iranians by the Iranian embassy in Vienna, a number of students and Iranian expatriates requested to return to Iran."

"Therefore, the embassy is trying to coordinate with local officials to repatriate this number of applicants to the country through Vienna airport," the Iranian official said.

Applicants are from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

He said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran is trying to make it possible for these Iranian to return as soon as possible in coordination with other relevant departments."
