The Deputy head of the Department of Environment Masoud Tajrishi discussed joint environmental cooperation with Dutch Ambassador to Tehran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Masoud Tajrishi and the Dutch ambassador to Tehran Jacques Louis Worner discussed joint environmental cooperation in the fields of waste, air quality management, air pollution sources, soil, and water pollution.

Tajrishi said, "Urmia Lake's Revival headquarters, northwest of Iran, has cooperated well with the two countries of Austria and Netherlands, to rebuild the lake, but because of cruel US sanctions, many problems created," Iran Press reported.

He also noted that Iran's current problem is lacking new technologies, adding, "In Iran, energy is very inexpensive and increasing its price has become a political issue."

The Dutch ambassador to Tehran, expressing his country's interest in cooperating to solve Iran's environmental problems, stressed that the Netherlands could help Iran in preventing soil salinization and desalination, as well as in agriculture-related industries.
