Iran launches ethanol production line

Tehran (IP) - Ethanol production line was launched in Iran’s Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research Center with the attendance of the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.

Iran PressIran News: The head of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research Center of Iran Mohammad-Reza Omidkhah said that the center’s researchers managed to produce ethanol of %90 purity which is used as a raw material in alcohol-based disinfectants.

"The researchers achieved success within 14 days using the available facilities," he said.

"Now, ethanol is produced with the least time and maximum efficiency with the capacity of 1,000 liters per day, which can be increased to 3,000 liters per day," Omidkhah added.

The Head of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research Center of Iran went on to say that the laboratory also has worked on the production of ethanol with a purity of more than 99 percent for pharmaceutical, medical, and instrument analysis applications.
