Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Sunday condemned the assassination attempt on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi and stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran's firm and continuous position in support of stability, security, and peace in Iraq.
Iraq's Prime Minister escaped unhurt after an attempted assassination attempt by a drone armed with explosives, state-run media reports.
The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on everyone to be aware of the conspiracies that have targeted Iraq's security and progress, calling such incidents in the interests of the parties that have violated Iraq's stability, security, independence, and territorial integrity for the past 18 years. By creating terrorist and sedition groups, they have sought to achieve their sinister regional goals.
Khatibzadeh expressed satisfaction with the Mustafa al-Kazemi's state of being in good health and expressed hope that the people, the government, and the Iraqi political currents, with unity and solidarity, would contribute to the development and prosperity of Iraq.
Iraqi President reacted to the failed assassination of Mustafa al-Kazemi, calling the assassination attempt on the prime minister a dangerous and heinous crime against the nation.
Barham Salih wrote on his Twitter account that the assassination attempt on the Prime Minister was a very dangerous act and a shameful crime against the Iraqi people.
