Iran Press/ Iran news: The spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said on Monday (August 24) that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 361,150.
Sima Sadat Lari said, with 133 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 20,776.
"Unfortunately, 2,245 new cases were diagnosed since yesterday, 1,132 of whom were hospitalized and the total number of COVID-19 patients reached 361,150," Lari said.
According to the spokeswoman, 3,848 patients are under severe conditions.
The spokeswoman added that 3,062,422 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been conducted in Iran so far.
Announcing that 26 provinces of the country are still in a state of alert or red, she added: "Mazandaran, Tehran, Qom, Golestan, North Khorasan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, Semnan, East Azerbaijan, Markazi, Yazd, and Gilan are in the state of red."
According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Fars, Ilam, Lorestan, Hormozgan, Zanjan, Qazvin, West Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Hamadan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad are also on alert.
