Iran Press/Middle East: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in a message to the Speaker of the people's Council of Syria Hammouda Sabbagh, on Wednesday, noted, " In the future, as in the past, with the cooperation of the Iranian and Syrian representatives, strategic relations between us in various bilateral, regional and international arenas will continue more than before."
“I take this opportunity while emphasizing Iran’s continued support for the Syrian government and people, to stress the significance of parliaments of the two countries for the development of economic cooperation between Iran and Syria. I request you to send my warmest greetings to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.”
In this message, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wished health and evermore success and prosperity for the Syrian Parliament Speaker, legislators as well as the success of resilience of the Syrian government and people.
Members of the People’s Assembly on Tuesday elected Hammoudeh Sabbagh as the Assembly’s speaker by acclamation for the third legislative term.
Sabbagh said although Syria has been exposed to a long terrorist war and a direct occupation along with unprecedented economic, media and diplomatic war, it has committed to running the elections on time.
In addition, Mohammad Akram al-Ajlani was elected Deputy Speaker by acclamation, while Salloum al-Salloum and Maysaa Saleh were elected Undersecretaries, and Mohammad Sleiman al-Abrash and Fayza al-Azbeh were elected Observers.
