Yazd (IP) - Iran's Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said that the knowledge-based economy has grown well in Iran and 5,300 knowledge-based companies are operating in this economy.

Iran PressIran News: At the end of his trip to Yazd, the center of Iran, on Tuesday night, Sorena Sattari stated at the meeting of "Knowledge-based Economy and Surge in Production" that the sales of products of knowledge-based economy companies last year were 120,000 billion Tomans.”

Sattari also stated that currently, 37 knowledge-based companies with assets worth 200,000 billion tomans are present in the Iranian stock market.

During a one-day visit to Yazd, Sorena Sattari visited knowledge-based companies based in Yazd Industrial Zone and an exhibition of technological products and stem cell accelerators at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Yazd. Herbal plants scientific database for more access to researchers and scientists was set up with the presence of Sattari in Yazd.

There are more than 7,500 plant species in Iran, of which at least 1,700 have been identified as having medicinal characteristics.
