Zarif stresses updating long-term cooperation document between Iran, Russia

Tehran (IP) - Iranian foreign minister stressed the need to update the document on long-term cooperation between Iran and Russia to the level of strategic relations.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking at a meeting with the Chairman of the Russian State Duma's International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said given the level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, it is necessary to update the document on long-term cooperation between the two countries to the level of strategic relations.

During the meeting on Sunday morning, Leonid Slutsky also said that the trip during the coronavirus epidemic was due to the importance of the level of relations and important issues between the two countries.

At their meeting, Zarif and Slutsky discussed bilateral issues, especially the economic aspects of cooperation, the two countries' views on issues related to JCPOA, developments in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya, as well as cooperation between the two countries at the regional and international level.

Leonid Slutsky,  who is in Tehran to meet with Iranian officials, also met with the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Saturday.
