Tehran (IP) - Iranian President's chief of staff in a phone conversation with Hekmat Hajiyev, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the need to further develop and strengthen relations between the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: Mahmoud Vaezi in this telephone conversation called the cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan a positive example of constructive relations between the countries of the region and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a friendly and neighboring country alongside the government and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the development of relations with this country is valued greatly."

Iranian President's chief of staff also stated that supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries is the official policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in issues and disputes, adding that tensions in the region have not been and are not in the interest of any country.

Emphasizing that Iran wants the stability, development and progress of all countries, especially the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vaezi expressed hope that the existing conflicts in the region will be resolved through dialogue and peaceful solutions.

In this telephone conversation, Hekmat Hajiyev praised the efforts of Iranian officials and the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the development and boosting relations between the two sides and stressed the need to increase consultations and contacts between the officials of the two countries to further expand relations.

The Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan also appreciated Iran's clear stance on international disputes and respect for the sovereignty of the countries, adding: "As a very important and influential country in the region, Iran plays a very crucial role in resolving regional issues and conflicts."
