Iran's Parliament Speaker went on to say that the development of trade and economic relations and exchanges with Iraq as a strategic partner as well as with other neighbors is the first priority of the Parliament.

Qalibaf added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran considered it its duty to help its brothers during the attack of the ISIS terrorist group, hence with the help of God and the strives of the warriors, the Takfiri terrorist group was defeated by the strives of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU)."

"The criminal assassination of the late commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, the international hero of the fight against terrorism, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, as well as their companions which was carried out on the direct orders of US President Donald Trump, is a disgrace that will never be erased from the face of White House administration," the Speaker of Iranian Parliament noted.

The official stated: "The United States has violated Iraqi territory and has rudely assassinated those who risked their lives to crush the bones of terrorism, so the case of the US assassination must be pursued with vigor."

Referring to the commonalities between the countries of the region, the Speaker of Iranian Parliament said: "Considering the commonalities, religious and moral teachings, especially with the difficult condition of the coronavirus pandemic, regional ambiguities, and differences should be put aside and the role of Iran and Iraq in this path is important."
