Tehran (IP) - Chief of the Mostazafan Foundation of the Islamic Revolution Parviz Fattah on Tuesday stressed that the Foundation has allocated 50 billion tomans for the release of 2574 unintentional crimes prisoners.

Iran PressIran news: Paying a visit to the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary in southern Tehran, Fattah stressed the measure has been taken with the aim of supporting the needy prisoners and their families.

Referring to the decision made by the Judiciary to release some of the so-called prisoners, Fattah announced that an amount of 20 billion tomans in form of essential loans has been provided by the Foundation to assist the prisoners and their families.

Mostazafan Foundation Chief went on to say that all organisations must cooperate to meet the dire need of population reduction in prisons under the Coronavirus pandemic since the majority of the prisoners released i.e. 90% are married and deprived.   

"Mostazafan Foundation is also ready to optimise health protocols in prisons amid the Coronavirus outbreak", Fattah reiterated.

A number of unintentional crimes prisoners with debts less than 50 million tomans were released today in presence of Mostazafan Foundation Chief. 104/207
