Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Foreign Ministry's special envoy for Afghanistan held a phone call on Wednesday with the new Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.

Iran Press/Iran News: During the phone conversation, the Iranian Foreign Ministry's special envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian referred to the taken actions by Iran's Foreign Minister concerning Afghanistan, stressing the need for the active presence of the United Nation and intra-Afghanistan talks.

"It is important to send a mutual message to the sides of the talks that political resolution is the only way of resolving current problems and disputes in Afghanistan," the Iranian official added.

As one of the major regional and world countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran has constantly called for resolving regional crises, including the crisis in Afghanistan, through dialogue.

Iranian officials have always announced that the country's main goal in Afghanistan is to create stability and security by the Afghan government.
