Iran Press/Iran news: The statement said: "Imam Khomeini was born in a difficult period in the history of Islam when the Islamic world lost most of its powers and facilities in the face of colonial modernity."
"The main weakness of the Islamic world is the domination or influence of colonialism in the vast expanse in which Muslims live, but the division is another way of colonial influence.", stressed the statement
"In the last two centuries, the materialism and material interests of the dependent rulers in the Islamic world have hindered the unity of Muslims, but Imam Khomeini showed Muslims the way out of this quagmire," Public Relations of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought's statement added.
The presence of Imam Khomeini in a time of Muslim's despair led nation's to use the capacities of Islamic civilization.
With the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini used all the capacity of the Shi'a world and revolutionary Iran to support Palestine and confront the Israeli regime; This is one of the most important issues in the unity of Muslims.
A few decades after Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Ummah has both felt a deeper need for Islamic unity and a better understanding of the grounds for its recovery. Muslims have realized that they do not need political leaders, but a spiritual leader to lead Ummah.
That is why, in the current era when the flag of Imam Khomeini's movement is in the hands of Imam Khamenei, the universal acceptance of this leader has increased. Because Imam Khomeini's ideas, ideals, concerns, strategies, tactics, and finally the Islamic faith and intimacy have been found in all of Imam Khamenei's speeches and actions, and he has been considered beyond the level of political leaders, the statement added.
The ceremony for the demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini, falls on June 3 this year, with the attendance of various religious figures and intellectuals from around the world via video conferencing due to COVID-19 compulsory social distancing.
