Hormozgan (IP) - IRGC navy is adding 100 indigenous missile boats to its fleet with the presence of Iran's IRGC chief commander Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the IRGC Navy Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri and Iran's defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami.

Iran PressIran news: The newly added IRGC missile boats are in various classes, including Ashura, Tariq and Zulfiqar, which Iranian specialists have produced and optimized in the knowledge-based companies of the Ministry of Defense's Marine Industries Organization and the IRGC's specialized naval technical centers.

These  missile boats with very good hydrodynamic capability, high speed, suitable maneuverability, very low radar cross section and high offensive power have a great impact on improving the combat capability of the Revolutiona Guards Navy in the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.

The ceremony held on Thursday was attended by Iran's Defense Minister Major General Amir Hatami, IRGC Commander Major General Hossein salami, and IRGC Navy Commander Rear admira  General Alireza Tangsiri.

The move comes in line with the plans to boost the Islamic Republic’s offensive power in the strategic Persian Gulf waters.
