Tehran (IP) - Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) described the US administration as "unreliable, inefficient, and incompetent."

Iran Press/Iran News: In a message on his Twitter account, Ali Shamkhani wrote on Friday that the triangle of  US President, Donald Trump, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook has created "an image of the USA administration that its allies consider it unreliable, its rivals consider it threat & its citizens consider it inefficient & incompetent."

"The rule of irrational inefficient one is the source of the threats, only," he added.

After the US unilateral decision to withdraw from JCPOA in 2018, top American officials including Trump, Pompeo, and Hook have launched a so-called maximum pressure campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As the time of lifting the United Nations arms embargo against Iran is coming up, which is a part of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2231, the US government has stepped up its efforts to prevent the cease of the arms embargo.

Brian Hook recently announced that Washington would try every possible way to extend the arms embargo against Iran.

While the US government officially exited JCPOA without considering UNSCR 2231, US officials claim that the United States is still one of JCPOA participants based on the Iran nuclear agreement.

The Chinese Mission to the United Nations said on Thursday that Washington has no right to extend a UN arms embargo on Tehran

Also on Thursday, Russia's envoy to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov called the recent US claim as an "illusion."
