Sistan and Baluchestan (IP) - A shipment of 5,000 tons of wheat donated by India to Afghanistan has arrived at the port of Chabahar in southeastern Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Behrouz Aghaei, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan of Iran said on Thursday said that the return of the remaining empty containers to Chabahar port continues with the gradual unloading of the donated cargo through the Milak border, and all efforts are being made to ship the cargo to Afghanistan in full and in the shortest possible time.

Referring to the humanitarian assistance of the Indian government to the people of Afghanistan on 15 April in the port of Shahid Beheshti in Chabahar, Aghaei said: "This cargo entered the port of Chabahar in the form of 203 containers by the vessels of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and immediately the unloading and loading of the products with the strategic and modern equipment of the port of Chabahar began."

The Director-General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan of Iran added: "All these containers were transported by trucks prepared by the carrier to the Milak-Zaranj border within 12 days after unloading from the ship and entered Afghanistan."

"So far, about 61 containers unloaded of this cargo have returned to Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar through the Zaranj-Milak border," Aghaei stated.
