Tehran (IP) - The business development manager of the Iranian knowledge-based company said that the countries in the region have requested Iranian test kits to diagnose Coronavirus.

Iran PressIran News: Vahid Younesi, the business development manager at 'Pishtaz Teb Zaman Diagnostics', noted that Iran has the ability to export Corona test kits to countries in the region so Turkey, Syria, and Iraq are requesting Iranian kits.

"These products are exported to 20 countries," Younesi said, noting the company has sent of nearly 60 products to the markets in the fields of diagnosis of certain diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, and diabetes.

Younesi highlighted that his knowledge-based company has already mass-produced the Coronavirus diagnostic test kits, and is awaiting proper permits for distribution among laboratories approved by the Iranian Health Ministry.

The Iranian Coronavirus test kit “is exactly on par with the foreign-made ones as regards precision, functionality and time of diagnosis; It will take two hours for test results to come out,” he said.

Later, Ali Reza Biglari, head of Pasteur Institute of Iran, said that 60 groups were formed to produce diagnostic kits, which three kits reached the standards and are ready for mass production, and export.

The Coronavirus, officially named Covid-19, was detected late in 2019 in Wuhan, China. In addition to China, the virus has now spread to more than 195 other countries, including Iran.

In Iran, more than 35,000 people have definitely been infected with the Coronavirus, of which more than two thousand have died and more than 11,000 have recovered.

Earlier, Ali Reza Biglari, head of Pasteur Institute of Iran in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said that 60 groups were formed to produce diagnostic kits, which three kits reached the standards and are ready for mass production, and export.

According to him, Pasteur Institute is conducting over 10,000 tests daily and it can be increased to 20,000.
