Tehran (IP) - Ali Reza Biglari, head of Pasteur Institute of Iran, said that 60 groups were formed to produce diagnostic kits, which three kits reached the standards and are ready for mass production, and export.

Iran PressIran News: Biglari in an exclusive interview with Iran Press about the history of Pasteur Institute of Iran said that this institute is the oldest one in Iran and biggest in the Middle East in diagnosing contagious diseases since 100 years ago both inside and outside of the country.

He added that this is a research, production and training center that gives service to all over the country.

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus, Pasteur started its research and on the first days the institute conducted 60 tests per day which increased to 1,800 while creating a network with a single protocol through the country which was amazing for WHO's experts, the official noted.

Referring to the number of tests per day he said that over 10,000 are conducted daily and it can be increased to 20,000.

Biglari went on to say that several groups have been formed to investigate the genomes and biological reactions in different people to work on producing a vaccine.

These sanctions worked in favor and more than 300 experts have got the experience to research on Covid-19 and this knowledge will help us in similar situations too. 

"60 groups were formed to make diagnostic kits which 3 kits reached the standard and are ready for mass- production, and export", he concluded. 

Ali Reza Biglari, head of Pasteur Institute of Iran, noted that the imposed sanctions on our country have created opportunities for progress.
