Daei still on world’s top goalscorer

Iran's legendary scorer Ali Daei still seats on top of the men's top goalscorer list in the history of national football matches.

Iran PressIran News: According to the latest ranking of the International Football Federation (FIFA), among top scorers of national matches, Ali Daei of the Iranian national team stands firs in the ranking with 109 goals in 149 national games from 1993 to 2006.

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo is also the second-leading scorer in the history of national football matches with 99 goals in 164 national games from 2003 to 2020.

Still, with 84 goals in 85 national games between 1945 and 1962, Ferenc Puskás of the Hungarian national team is also the third-high-ranking scorer in the history of national football matches.

From June 2007 until 2013, Daei was a member of the FIFA Football Committee. In 2001, Daei was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
