The director of the Tehran Parks & Green Space Organization said that Iran exports $ 50-100 million worth of flowers and plants annually.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 17th Tehran International Flowers and Plants Exhibition, Ali Mohammad Mokhtari, said on Sunday, "Unfortunately, in the field of flower exports, we export only between $ 50 million and $ 100 million, while our neighbors earn $ 1 billion to $ 2 billion in this industry." 

The director of Parks and Green Space of Tehran Municipality pointed to the potential of the industry in the field of cultivation of ornamental plants and said: "Our neighbours in the north and south of the country can be a good market for the supply of flowers. We can compete with the leading countries in this field with particular attention to packaging and it can be achieved with the support of producers."

Mokhtari added that more than 290 domestic and 17 foreign producers from Germany, Turkey, The Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries have participated in this year's event which will welcome visitors and the public until Friday. 103/211/213
