Iran Press/Iran news: The Universiade Cup is underway in the North Western province of West Azerbaijan. It kicked off on April 24 and it lasts until April 29, 2019.
The event is aimed at boosting the students’ morale as well as developing ties between Iran and regional countries. Some 220 students from the universities of Iran, Turkey, Lebanon and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region are taking part in the event, reported Iran Press.
The students are from, Urmia university of medical sciences and University College of Azerabadegan, Turkish universities including Atatürk University in Erzurum, Erzurum Technical University, Van University, Salahaddin University-Erbil in the North of Iraq and especially in Kurdistan region and the Lebanese University in Lebanon.
The students compete with each other in the different sporting fields such as Futsal, Volleyball, Badminton, and Table Tennis and the competition is a multi-sport event. 103/211/203
