Iran Press/Iran news: Flood-barriers in 'Aindo' village, close to the city of Ahvaz have been breached, with floodwater now pouring into the Salman Canal and heading straight for the residential districts of the city of Ahvaz.
Floodwaters have also damaged the Ahvaz-Khorramshahr railway line, with parts of the rail line being submerged underneath floodwaters. Also, certain sections of Ahvaz-Khorramshahr highway have been flooded, making it difficult for commuters and motorists to travel between the two cities.
Shadegan, another city in southern Khuzestan province is being threatened by floodwaters.
Local people in Shadegan, with the help of IRGC personnel and Basij (volunteers), are trying to strengthen and fortify flood barriers in Shadegan and elsewhere in Khuzestan province.
