Iran Press/Iran news: "The 31-member international delegation included representatives from UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Relief International, Caritas relief agency, Doctors Without Borders (MSF), UN humanitarian assistance and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)," Director General of Bureau of Aliens and Foreign Immigrant Affairs of the southwestern province of Khuzestan, Hamid Silavi, told IRNA.
The aim of the visit by international organizations is to assess the situation in flood-stricken areas of Iran.
Two million Iranians have been affected by heavy rains and flooding which started in western, southwestern, southern, and northeastern districts of Iran just days before the beginning of Nowrouz, or Iranian New Year, claiming the lives of over 70 Iranians, wounding over 1,000 and displacing about 280,000.
Currently, relief efforts are underway by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Army forces and volunteers who have joined them in the flood-hit areas. 208/211/104
