Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council Kamal Kharrazi said on Sunday during the World Peace Forum in Beijing that Saudi Arabia is the route of extremist Wahhabism.

"Route of extremist ideologies is in Wahhabism which its' foundation is Saudi Arabia and it has been promoted in the same country", Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council Seyyed Kamal Kharrazi, said during the Seventh World Peace Forum in Beijing.

"Saudi Arabia based on its long-run strategy had been trying to attract the youth from the Muslim world and even non-Muslim countries to the University of Medina to receive Wahhabi-Salafi teachings", Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council added.

"However, these students returning to their countries after graduation worked as Imams in the mosques set up by Saudi Arabia to promote Wahhabism", Kharrazi noted.

"Donald Trump the president of the United States, during his election campaigns revealed that ISIL was created by Hillary Clinton, the then Secretary of State. In another case, Joe Biden the then-US Vice-President, in a televised address in 2015 confirmed the role of Persian Gulf Arab states in supporting ISIL", Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council stated.

"With the sacrifice of the Iraqi, Syrian, Iranian and other voluntary forces, Deash has been disintegrated, but not yet eradicated. According to the authentic information, they are now being relocated to Afghanistan", Kharrazi said.

"The growing attacks of ISIS in Afghanistan show that they have now targeted Afghanistan which is neighbor to Iran, China, Pakistan, and Russia. Noting that the new National Security Strategy of the United States, calls China", Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council added.

"Russia and Iran threats to the US interests, the growing activities of ISIS in Afghanistan has to be considered a serious development", Kharrazi said.

"Since the presence of ISIS is rising in Afghanistan, it is necessary to exchange views and hold regular meetings on how to confront this vicious phenomenon. Iran, Pakistan, China, Russia and the Central Asian countries should be pioneers in planning for coordinated measures against it," Head of Iran's Foreign Policy Strategic Council concluded.

Meanwhile, Iran's Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations said,security remained Afghanistan’s major challenge, and enhancing it was one of the main requirements for long-term stability and socioeconomic development.

Gholamali Khoshroo added,to respond to the challenge, the National Unity Government needed robust and sustained support from the international community. That was of utmost importance in establishing lasting peace and stability.

His remarks come as though Iran’s support for the Government was unrelenting, and he welcomed any achievements of an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process. His country continued to participate in the Kabul process, as well as similar processes, to help bring peace and security to Afghanistan.

Seventh World Peace Forum was attended by former politicians and opinion leaders of think tanks from across the globe. Current solutions to the security challenges faced by the international community is discussed during the forum.

Besides topics such as anti-terrorism and anti-nuclear proliferation, security issues– including trade conflicts and economic security, AI technology and its impact on international relations–are also to be high on the agenda this year.
