Belgrade (IP) – Iranian Foreign Minister met with the President of the National Assembly of Serbia in Belgrade on Monday evening to mull over issues of mutual interests.

Iran PressEurope: During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views in various fields of cooperation, especially in the parliamentary diplomacy field.

Conveying the greetings of the Iranian parliament speaker to the president of the National Assembly of Serbia, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian termed measures taken by the two countries in boosting parliamentary cooperation "significant."

Given the formation of a new round of the Iran-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Serbia, Amir-Abdollahian expressed hope that Parliamentary Friendship Groups at the parliament of the two countries would benefit from the capacities in removing barriers and paving the grounds for promoting bilateral ties.

He described the level of bilateral relations with Serbia in various political, economic and cultural fields as "excellent and privileged" and expressed hope that amicable ties between the two countries would be further expanded.

The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlić, for his part, pointed to the high significance of promoting the level of cooperation with Iran and described the key role of the two countries’ parliaments in the facilitation of developing bilateral cooperation as ‘important’.
