(IP) - The head of Iran's Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) announced a three-fold increase in the export of Iranian drugs to 40 countries.

Iran PressIran news: Haidar Mohammadi, head of IFDA, during the visit of 5G members to the 8th International Exhibition on Pharmaceuticals and Related Industries IRANPHARMA EXPO 2023, termed the export of medicine as a sign of Iran's good interaction with neighboring countries.

The 8th International Exhibition on Pharmaceuticals and Related Industries IRANPHARMA EXPO 2023 kicked off in Tehran on September 27 and will last until 29.

Mohammadi believes that the presence of foreign countries is the biggest achievement for IRANPHARMA EXPO, adding: 427 domestic companies and 282 foreign companies from 33 countries have participated in the event.

The G5 includes Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and the representatives of the World Health Organization in Iran, and its purpose is to expand the cooperation of the member countries for the growth and promotion of health in the region.

Mehdi Pirsalehi, vice president of drug manufacturers' funds, also said that last year, the export of drugs from Iran was about 70 million dollars.

Pirsalehi stated that Iran has increased both the quality and quantity of medicine production in recent years.
