Iran Press/ Iran news: Qeshm island, the strategic entrance to the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman, close to the Indian ocean, overlooks the Strait of Hormuz.
The largest and most strategic island of the Persian Gulf due to its proximity to the oil and gas resources, petrochemical and refinery units, offshore equipment, and port facilities for large ships suitable for refueling services for vessels crossing the international waterway and its energy and biotechnology parks is world-renowned.
Alireza Khosravani, Director of Industry, Mining and Production Facilitation of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, said that in the last five months, five export shipments of more than 40,000 tons of cement and 50,000 tons of clinker had been exported from Qeshm to foreign countries.
Clinker is the backbone of cement production. It is essentially a mixture of limestone and minerals that have been heated in a kiln and transformed by this heat.
It is a solid material that occurs as lumps or nodules, usually 3 millimeters to 25 millimeters in diameter. It is produced by sintering limestone and aluminosilicate materials such as clay during the cement kiln stage.205
