Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the French government's double standards in confronting the strike of energy sector employees in the country.

Iran PressIran News: The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Kanaani said on Friday that the labor strikes in the French oil and gas sector and French authorities' threats to use force against the employees to end the strikes deserve media coverage.

The industrial action by energy sector employees has been ongoing in France since September 21, when ExxonMobil employees went on strike. They were joined on September 27 by workers of French energy company TotalEnergies.

The employees are calling for pay rises amid the livelihood and remuneration crisis and demanding a bigger share of the substantial profits both of the companies have made in the current year due to energy price hikes.
