Iran on Saturday called for the United Nations Security Council to meet over Israeli aggression against Tehran's sovereignty.

Iran PressIran news: Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, in a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the members of the Security Council, regarding the aggressive actions of the Israeli regime, stated: "While the Iranian air defense system intercepted most of the missiles, four officers bravely sacrificed their lives to defend and protect national security and were martyred."

Iran condemns these deliberate aggressions of the Zionist regime in the strongest terms. The illegal attacks by the Israeli regime violate the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4. The actions of the Israeli regime pose a serious threat to international peace and security and contribute to further instability in the region.

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: "Iran, in accordance with the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter and based on international law, reserves its inherent right to respond legally and legitimately to these criminal attacks at an appropriate time."

Iran will not hesitate to exercise its inherent rights under international law to take every measure in defense of its vital national and security interests.

In light of the ongoing and systematic violations by the Israeli regime, Iran calls on the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Security Council to take a firm stance and to strongly and explicitly condemn the Israeli regime for committing these aggressive actions. 219
