Iran Press/ Asia: In a webinar on "Promoting Trade between Iran and India: Challenges and Opportunities" organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ali Chegini stated that Indian business should increase trade with Iran's oil, packaging, and agriculture sectors.
He said that a preferential trade agreement between the two countries should be signed to expand trade between India and Iran and reduce customs tariffs.
Noting that increasing a barter trade mechanism would be a positive step towards expanding relations between the two countries, Chegini added: "Based on the agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial matters, we believe that the process of bilateral interaction will help improve trade and economic relations between the two countries."
Indian Ambassador to Tehran Gaddam Dharmendra also said that maritime and air routes would increase trade between the two sides.
He stated that Chabahar port is the new 'Taj Mahal' of Iran and facilitates India's trade relations, especially with Central Asian countries, and maintains the supply chain.
