Islamabad (IP)- Speaker National Assembly Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Amiri Moghaddam. In the meeting the two sides while discussing important regional and global issues, including bilateral relations, stressed to boost mutual cooperation in various fields.

Iran Press/Asia: Stressing the need to further strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, the Speaker of the National Assembly stated that the relations between the two brotherly countries are based on strong foundations of religion, history, and culture. Iran, being a brotherly neighbor of Pakistan, holds significant importance for Pakistan in maintaining its long-standing brotherly relations with Iran.

The Speaker emphasized Pakistan's determination to expand cooperation with Iran in parliamentary and economic sectors, highlighting the crucial role that parliamentary contacts in both countries can play in enhancing bilateral relations. He stated, "Promoting parliamentary and economic contacts with Iran is among our priorities. Parliamentary contacts can help bridge the gap between the people. The role of the two neighboring countries is crucial for peace and stability in the region."

In response, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, expressed Iran's appreciation for its brotherly relations with Pakistan. He commended Pakistan's role in promoting peace and stability in the region and identified opportunities for collaboration in energy, manufacturing, and other economic sectors between the two countries. The Iranian ambassador acknowledged the significance of parliamentary cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations and praised the Speaker of the National Assembly for his efforts in promoting contacts between the two nations. 219
