Iran news/ According to an Iran Press report, Chinese Deputy Minister of national security Dong Jingwei, met with Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani, on his recent trip to Tehran.
Referring to the expanded bilateral economic cooperation, as well as political and military cooperation, Shamkhani went on to emphasize that the mutual interests between Tehran and Beijing has paved the ground for improving bilateral ties specifically in the fight against terrorism and other challenges of regional and international nature.

The top Iranian official who is also the representative of the Leader of the Islamic revolution explained further that instrumental use of illegal sanctions and taking advantage of economic relations ruling over dominance system would pave the ground for return of colonial era. He also said that the continuation of wrong policies of imposing one's will on independent states is not only doomed to failure but also it would lead to opposite results.
Appreciating China's constructive role in regional and international developments, Shamkhani called for speedy implementation of security agreements between the related institutes of the two countries.

Describing Terrorism as the phenomenon which threatens peace and international security, rear admiral Shamkhani concluded that the continuous action and close cooperation of regional countries can disrupt the financing of terrorism by some trans-regional countries.
Furthermore, Chinese deputy minister of national security Dong Jingwei, while appreciating Iran's effective role in fighting against terrorism and extremism in the world said paying no attention to the necessity of serious, all out and impartial fight against terrorism may lead to terrorism getting out of control.
Referring to resolve of the leaders of the two sides to improve cooperation at the multilateral level, the top Chinese security official went on to conclude that diplomatic contacts together with exchange of ideas between the high ranking officials of Iran and China will play a determining role in expediting agreements and accords already signed.
The first meeting of national security secretaries and advisers of regional states, called ‘Regional Security Dialogue’, was held in Tehran on Wednesday Sep 26, 2018.
Participants at the ‘Regional Security Dialogue’ meeting in Tehran in the final statement said terrorism, narcotics, organized crimes and foreign interference in the region, endanger national security in countries of the region.
