Iran Press/ Iran news: In a message to his Azerbaijani counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Jeyhun Bayramov on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Amir-Abdollahian said the Republic of Azerbaijan has a top place in Iran’s foreign policy, due to historical, cultural, and religious connections.
He added that based on these factors, Iran has always supported the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The top Iranian diplomat expressed satisfaction that Tehran-Baku relations over the past 30 years have been based on mutual respect and covered different fields such as energy and transportation.
Amir-Abdollahian said the existing capacities of the two countries will open new horizons for further developing bilateral relations, and called for efforts to use those capacities.
The Azeri foreign minister also sent a message to Amir-Abdollahian, congratulating him on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Bayramov said the relations are based on friendship, good-neighborliness as well as historical, cultural, and religious commonalities.
He referred to a summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization that took place in Turkmenistan’s capital in November last year.
Bayramov said the summit and the talks that Iranian and Azeri presidents held on the sidelines of that event gave a boost to Tehran-Baku efforts to further expand their ties.
The Azeri foreign minister stressed that bilateral relations continue to grow in different fields including economy and transport, and added that joint projects the two sides have carried out in the past years help them boost their relations too.
Over the past years, Bayramov further said, parliaments and other governmental bodies of Iran and Azerbaijan have established mutual ties and their cooperation is continuing successfully.
He said the two countries will continue efforts to deepen their ties and bolster cooperation in accordance with their national interests.
