Tehran (IP)- The senior Iranian MP and member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, has played down the French President's efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington, saying such efforts are useless and unlikely to work.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the sidelines of the open session of the Majlis on Sunday, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh said: "I suppose the French president, Emmanuel Macron's suggestion for lessening tensions between Iran and United States is useless, and the third incremental step to further reduce our commitment to JCPOA must be taken.

"It is in our national interest to remain within the nuclear deal, but to further reduce our commitments to the deal (JCPOA). We never breach international laws but follow them.", highlighted  Iran's Senior MP.

"We must get closer to our neighbours, bolster trade with our neighbours, they appraised the situation after a US drone which had encroached on our territory was shot down.", Falahatishe continued, reported Iran Press

The B team (B group) has been unsuccessful in its many plots in the region. We must take the third incremental step to further reduce our commitment to JCPOA even more forcefully than the second step, considering the fact that the United States has been breaching international laws, and riding roughshod over international norms for well over a year.

Turning to the economy, the senior MP said Iran's economy will improve as we successfully counter illegal unilateral US sanctions, which is a form of economic terrorism. He said the tough  economic conditions will improve with time.

Turning to the Iran-Iraq border, Falahatpisheh said: "After many years the Khosravi border crossing has been opened up, but more infrastructure is needed to provide more services to pilgrims and tourists alike, making travel more enjoyable."
