The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia exchanged views on the latest developments regarding JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) and the UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

Iran Press/Europe: In a meeting with Sergei Ryabkov, Kazem Jalali praised Russia's principled and rational stance towards the JCPOA and the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and its opposition to illegal US actions.

During the meeting, Sergei Ryabkov also stressed the illegality of the US action to use the snapback mechanism and said that Russia has officially stated its opinion in this regard and will continue its cooperation with Iran.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the United States to choose logical solutions and not to lose the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran, because Kremlin believes that the path of escalation of tensions over Iran is wrong and leads to a dead end.  104/207
