Thousands of Saudi people took to the streets of Saudi Arabia's Qatif to attend the funeral of a number of young political dissents killed by the Saudi regime's forces, as a crackdown led by bin Salman continue unabated in the country.

Iran Press/Middle East: People from various regions of Saudi Arabia converged in the Eastern Province of Qatif on Friday to attend the burial.

“Far from us is injustice. Death to Al Saud,” the people chanted, as they marched behind the coffins in Qatif, the kingdom’s oil-rich and Shia-populated province located more than 420 kilometers (260 miles) east of the capital Riyadh.

The huge march took place in the wake of a crackdown led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against pro-democracy campaigners, Muslim preachers and intellectuals continue unabated in the country.

Earlier on December 25, the Saudi regime's militants stormed the al-Anoud neighborhood of Dammam, the capital city of Eastern Province, starting an exchange of gunfire with local residents.

It has been reported that two opposition figures were fatally shot in the process.

Also, on December 2, Saudi Arabia's Specialized Criminal Court sentenced five anti-regime protesters from Qatif to death.

Over the past years, the Saudi regime has redefined its anti-terrorism laws to target activism.

In January 2016, the Riyadh regime's authorities executed Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, who was an outspoken critic of the regime. Nimr had been arrested in Qatif in 2012.
