Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his Canadian counterpart on his way back from India in a stopover in Muscat, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

Iran Press/Middle East: The two sides exchanged views on consular, technical and legal cooperation between Iran and countries whose nationals have been killed in the Ukrainian Plane incident.

Zarif and Francois-Philippe Champagne agreed that the expert teams of the foreign ministries of the two countries continue their contacts in this regard.

During the meeting which was held upon Canada's request in Muscat, Oman, both sides expressed regret over the deadly accident.

Zarif and Champagne agreed to meet again in the future at the appropriate time.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Ukraine foreign ministers held a phone conversation last night over the latest state of the Ukrainian passenger plane crash.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced Iran's readiness to transfer Ukrainian victims of the air crash and said that Iran is ready to accept Ukrainian experts to partake in the black box investigation.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also appreciated Iran's fast acceptance of responsibility and Tehran's cooperation in all stages.

Earlier on Friday, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that the tragic incident of Ukraine passenger plane should not be used as a tool in service of political gains and gestures.

In reaction to a meeting among foreign ministers of the five countries whose nationals were among the victims of the recent air crash near Tehran, the spokesman urged all parties to let the affairs proceed in due normal process till the completion of the investigations.

He said that certain statements made about the tragic incident and even the holding of the meeting were astonishing.

The Boeing 737-800 plane belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed near Tehran just minutes after the plane had taken-off from Imam Khomeini International Airport on Wednesday morning. All the 167 passengers and 9 crew members onboard the plane were killed in this tragic incident.
