Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami in a meeting with his Syrian counterpart General Ali Abdullah Ayyoub vowed that Tehran will continue its support to the countries in the resistance front.

Iran Press/Middle East: "The Islamic Republic of Iran regards support of Syria a religious duty and assistance to the regional stability," he said on Monday, "Iran will be beside the people and government of Syria in the reconstruction time too."

The visiting Syrian general, for his part, condemned Lt. General Soleimani's assassination and said he had an active and influential presence along with the oppressed people of Syria.

"Martyr Soleimani was an exemplary character for the people of Syria and the youth in the resistance front. His name will be recorded in history forever," said General Ayyoub.

The Syrian minister on behalf of President Bashar Assad conferred his country's highest military championship award on Martyr Soleimani to be presented to his bereaving family.
